Press Release Adrian Kearney director of Construction Register Ltd released information on behalf of its Steering Group which is now becoming the voice for house building and developer members. For the first time in the past recession period there has been positive growth in new dwelling registrations on a month to month basis. Furthermore speaking to local estate agents they have indicated an upturn in the sales market, particularly for first time buyers. The group speaking against the negative press of recent months, represent real time figures and information and not a retrospective analysis basis. They also indicate that the price of newly built properties have now reached their lowest and when the existing supply of new built stock is exhausted (particularly in the starter homes sector) new dwellings will increase in price due to the upturn in materials and production cost.
There is a demand for housing and the Group has called on MP’s and Assembly members to take a very proactive approach with banks and lending organisations to ensure Northern Ireland is a model for recovery for the rest of the UK and Ireland.
“Being one of the largest employment sectors in our region, simply standing by isn’t enough,” the director said, “Our members require results not failed initiatives.”
On a further up market note, Construction Register announces their forthcoming award ceremony, where they confirm the standards of new build dwellings in Northern Ireland and what’s on offer in the market is better than ever before, high quality, high spec, and with interest rate drops, highly affordable.
Up until now the house building sector has been a divided voice and the initiative of the Steering Group is not to seek individual aspirations but to develop a relationship and talking point for the benefit of the industry. The group will be seeking to engage with lending institutes, MP’s, MLA’s and MEP’s with a view to making the NI house sector a model for Europe. It will not be a talking shop, but will seek and expect results from those it engages with.
“The time is for actions, not words,” the director said, “as the bank shareholders, the tax paying public, now demand products for what is the biggest and best investment of a persons life time, with still the best return over 20 years for the money invested.”
